A superb specimen of weloganite crystals from the type locality Francon quarry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Weloganite is very rare strontium, sodium, zirconium carbonate and Francon quarry produced the best pieces in the world. On a base covered with small probably calcite crystals grow well isolated weloganite crystals. The weloganites are irregular barrel shaped hexagons up to 20 mm with flat tips. They have growth striations and are lustrous. They are from colorless to rich orange-yellow color, which is rarely seen. The mine is closed since decades and this is a choice piece.
