A top quality specimen displaying 22mm twinned cubanite from Henderson No. 2 mine, Chibougamau, Quebec, Canada. This now-closed mine has produced the best cubanite in the world and this is an outstanding representative. It displays a perfect, fat crystal with a strong glassy luster. It is nicely striated, with a pleasing brassy-yellow color and gorgeous V twinning. The specimen is complete all over. For references see the 1983 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 14, # 3. In very good condition – some small nicks, mainly on the back side. On acrylic base.
Exceptional cubanite crystal!
