A marvelous grass-green colored chromian vesuvianite crystal – the rarest and most desirable color from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The well, pointy terminated crystal has a rich green color due to chromium. At the lower part it is more apple-green and opaque. The quality is very good – gemmy crystal with lustrous faces, which strongly reflect the light. Rare chromian vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition - some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Cool!
