A killer specimen of unusual vesuvianite crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They have from mainly purple color to apple-green at the tips. The crystals are gem at the surface to opaque at the center which gives a quite uncommon appearance. They have a strong glassy luster and strong light reflection. The vesuvianite crystals are well shaped and sharp with point tips. The vesuvianite is very fresh and sparkling. Jeffrey mine produced some of the finest vesuvianite pieces in the world and this is a superb representative. The mine is closed since a long time. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Overwhelming!
