A gorgeous and very old specimen of spiky cyanotrichite, brochantite and chalcoalumite from Grandview Mine, Arizona, USA. These specimens are rare now as the locality is part of Grand Canyon National Park since 1940, so it was mined before that. This old copper mine began operation in 1893, stopped operation around 1916. It displays awesome tufts of rich turquoise-blue, acicular crystals of cyanotrichite, beautifully scattered on the matrix. The cyanotrichite is sparkling and the color is very rich. A colorful carpet of rich green brochantite needles covers the other half of the specimen. Minor light blue chalcoalumite is seen too. In excellent condition.
Fabulous!
