A killer specimen of very rare combination of garnet var. grossular var. chromian with vesuvianite var. chromian from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals are transparent and gem to 5mm. They have a deep and saturated grass-green color due to chromium. The garnets are with a sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. They sparkle nicely. Superb gemmy crystals of chromian vesuvianite (the rarest and most desirable color) form the base. They are well shaped with glassy lustrous faces. Unique combo from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.

Exceptional jewel!
