A first grade quality skeletal quartz crystal from Porretta Terme, Bologna Province, Italy. This is a choice specimen from this classic locality. The crystal is razor sharp and highly lustrous, glassy, completely transparent and water clear. It has superb skeletal features and beautiful clay inclusions, which are typical for this locality. The skeletal structure is caused by a fast growth of the mineral where the crystal faces do not have the time to be completed because the edges grow faster than the center of the faces. It is doubly terminated. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. In very good condition – some small contacts on the back side. On acrylic base.
