A fine acanthite specimen from the famous Guanajuato, Mexico. It comes with a label and a box from "Les Fils d'Émile Deyrolle". Émile Deyrolle was a famous 19th-century Paris dealer in natural history specimens. The fourth generation of the family, Émile Deyrolle's sons, took over the business by 1896. On the label is marked argyrite, which is a synonym of acanthite. It displays attractive crystals with a sharp cubic shape. They are silvery metallic and matt. Among them grow sharp quartz crystals. For references see the 2016 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 47, # 5. In superb condition. On acrylic base.
