Very rare specimen of barroisite-hornblende series from a recent small find in this uncommon locality - Kanarata quarry, Hlyabovo, Bulgaria. A scientific research article was published about the minerals in the find. Barroisite is a rare sodium-calcium amphibole. It displays green, delicate and thin needles to dense hairs. All of them are formed by Na-Ca barroisite and Ca-Mg hornblende series. Often the same crystal has barroisite and hornblende. Greener crystals are mainly hornblende and the more delicate hairs are barroisite. In excellent condition.
