A superb specimen of rich honey-orange colored grossular garnets to 10mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They are transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and deep saturated color. The crystals have a rhombic dodecahedral habit with sharp crystallization. They have nice striations characteristic for Jeffrey mine. White albite for the base. With such gemminess and irresistible color it is truly superb garnet from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
Killer Jeffrey mine garnet!
