An exceptional and rare specimen of gem epididymite crystal with rhodochrosite and aegirine from the famous Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The colorless and transparent hexagonal crystal of epididymite is very well shaped, and sharp. Usually these are white and opaque - epididymite with such quality is very rare. The faces are glassy and lustrous. Black aegirine and pink rhodochrosite crystals are seen too. Micro amber, prismatic crystals of an unidentified mineral grow above. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In very good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base.
Outstanding epididymite!
