Very neat and unusual rhodochrosite-siderite crystal from the famous locality of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. It displays a sharp, 30mm rhombohedral crystal, which is partially rhodochrosite and partially siderite. The rhodochrosite-areas have a rich and saturated red color, good luster and transparency. The siderite areas are opaque, with a khaki color. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.
Exceptional rhodochrosite-siderite combo!
