A beautiful specimen of hematite plates decorated with rutile crystals with epitaxial growth from the famous Cavradi gorge, Switzerland. Cavradi hematite is classic and highly treasured. The crystals have a perfect plate shape with beveled terminations. They grow in an attractive cluster over the small base. The hematite has a superb quality, with extremely lustrous faces which nicely reflects the light and cool growth striations. Above are seen epitaxial red rutile crystals. They are well isolated and lustrous. It displays aesthetically on both sides. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
