A gorgeous jewel of garnet var. grossular var. chromian with black chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are gem and clear to 2mm. They have a deep and saturated grass-green color due to chromium. The garnets are with a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black chromite are seen too. A fine thumbnail from this closed mine. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base.
Killer gem-green garnets!
