Exceptional specimen of honey-orange colored grossular garnet crystals to 12mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They are extremely transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and rich saturated color. They are glassy and clear - pure orange water. The crystals have a rhombic dodecahedral habit with sharp crystallization. The crystals are very well isolated and they grow on two rows. The white base underlines them nicely and gives a strong contrast. The best crystals at the top form a beautiful focal point. With such amazing gemminess, glassy luster and irresistible color it is a truly superb garnet from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some minor nicks. On acrylic base.

Astonishing!
