Killer thumbnail vesuvianite crystal with raspberry caps from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfectly flat terminated crystal is gem. It has an amazing color variation from apple-green core to very saturated and rich raspberry-fuchsia caps. The luster is very strong and the crystal is transparent and glassy. It is doubly terminated. That is the most intense color which the mine produced in just one single pocket. The colorfulness of the specimen is gorgeous. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Astonishing!
