Beautiful and rare combo specimen of orange colored grossular garnets attractively growing on olive-green clinochlore and diopside crystals from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. This is quite uncommon specimen from Jeffrey mine. The grossular crystals to 7mm are transparent, gem quality with a superb luster and pleasing orange color. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit with rhomboid shape faces - classic for this locality. The clinochlore crystals are well developed in rosette clusters. The diopside crystals are sharp and lustrous, light green (almost colorless). For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. The bottom is sawed. Some contacts near outside edge.

Gorgeous!
