Exceptional combo specimen of a catapleiite pseudomorph decorated with serandite crystals, aegirine and rhodochrosite from this great locality - Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The tan colored catapleiite pseudomorph after sodalite or eudialyte has a sharp hexagonal habit. Lustrous salmon pink serandite crystals grow all over. They are sharp prismatic crystals and translucent. Brown-red rhodochrosite rosettes above could be a pseudomorph after polylithionite. Black aegirine needles are seen too. It displays all over 360 degree. The specimen needs more scientific researches. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts and nicks. On acrylic base.
