Pleasing specimen of Corundum var. Ruby on a white Marble base from Jegdalek ruby deposit, Afghanistan. The crystal of 8mm has a rich fuchsia color. It is well shaped. The luster is good. It is slightly translucent and it displays some gemminess. The white base gives a superb contrast. Some Pyrite veins are seen too. Some small contacts. On acrylic base.
