Gorgeous specimen of extremely sparkling and rare Garnet var. Grossular with grass green phantoms, and small black Chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are gem, with rich green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent, colorless areas. The green color intensity varies. They have rhombic dodecahedral, sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. The piece displays beautifully all over 360 degree. Very hard to find one of these now – the mine is inactive. This is of truly superb quality – freshness and colorfulness. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Astonishing glowing green gems!
