Beautiful specimen of Pyrite replacing the calcium carbonate from a Paraspirifer Bownockeri Brachiopod shell from France Stone Co. "North" Quarry, Ohio, USA. This is a Middle Devonian aged fossil. It is very well shaped and complete all over with perfect shell shape. It has bi-lateral symmetry and very well-defined striated growth lines. Pyrite is lustrous and sparkling. In very good condition – some cracks.
