Fascinating, sparkling specimen of rare Garnet var. Grossular with green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are gem, with rich green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent, colorless areas. They have rhombic dodecahedral, sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some small apple-green Diopside crystals are seen too. Very hard to find one of these now – the mine is closed. This is of truly superior quality – freshness and colorfulness. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Astonishing glowing green gems!
