Cool specimen of Corundum var. Ruby on a white Marble base from Jegdalek ruby deposit, Afghanistan. The crystal of 17mm has rich fuchsia color. It is well shaped. The luster is good. It is slightly translucent and it displays some gemminess. The white base gives a superb contrast.  Some small contacts. On acrylic base.
