World grade quality jewel of gem Garnet var. Grossular crystals with green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals are gem and clear up to 5mm. They have grass-green cores due to Chromium. The crystals have razor sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and glassy luster. The quality is outstanding. White Pectolite sprays of needle crystals and green Diopside add a nice contrast. The green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In superb condition. On acrylic base.
