Marvelous small specimen of Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian with black Chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals are gem up to 2mm. They have deep and saturated grass-green color due to Chromium. The Garnets are with sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black Chromite are seen too. The base is covered by apple-green Diopside. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Cool gem-green Garnets!
