Pretty specimen of Corundum var. Ruby on a white Marble base from Jegdalek ruby deposit, Afghanistan. The crystal is 12mm and it has rich fuchsia color. It is well terminated. It has a pyramidal habit. The luster is strong. It is translucent and it displays some gemminess. The white base gives a superb contrast.  In very good condition – some natural imperfections. On acrylic base.
