Striking specimen of Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian with black Chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals are gem up to 1mm. They have deep and saturated grass-green color due to Chromium. The Garnets are with sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black Chromite are seen too. The base is covered by apple-green Diopside. Fine piece from this closed mine. It displays and sparkles attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some minor contacts. On acrylic base.
Fabulous gem-green Garnets!
