Striking specimen of Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian with black Chromite inclusions from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are gem and clear up to 2,5mm. They have deep and saturated grass-green color due to Chromium. The Garnets are with sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Some minor inclusions of black Chromite and light green Diopside are seen too. Fine piece from this closed mine. It displays on both sides. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Fabulous gem-green Garnets!
