Beautiful rare combo specimen of orange colored Grossular Garnets attractively set on olive-green Clinochlore over Diopside crystals bases from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. This is quite uncommon specimen from Jeffrey mine. The Grossular crystals are up to 8mm, transparent, gem quality with superb luster and rich orange color. They have sharp rhombic dodecahedral crystal habit with rhomboid shape faces - classic for this locality. The Clinochlore crystals are well developed in rosette clusters. The Diopside crystals form the base. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous!
