Pretty specimen of Corundum var. Ruby on a white Marble base from Jegdalek ruby deposit, Afghanistan. The main crystal is 13mm and it has rich fuchsia color. It is sharp and very well terminated. It has a dipyramidal habit and continues through the Marble on the both sides. The luster is strong. It is translucent and it displays some gemminess. The white base gives a superb contrast.  In very good condition – some side contacts. On acrylic base.
