Unique type of Beryl var. Alkali-Beryl specimen from Deo Darrah, Badakhshan, Afghanistan. It displays well formed tabular hexagonal crystal with gemmy areas. It is light blue at the rims to dark blue at the center forming phantom like layers. The crystal has cool natural etching on the sides. The faces are strongly lustrous. Some delicate black Tourmaline var. Schorl needles grow on the sides. For references see the 2018 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 49, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Fabulous!
