Striking specimen of bright and gemmy blue Lazulite crystals with very rare gemmy Kulanite, and Siderite from Rapid Creek - the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. Lazulite crystals are sharp, highly lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue to royal blue colored measuring up to 5mm. The most amazing aspect is the gemminess of the crystals – they are transparent with marvelous and saturated blue-green colors. Some small gemmy Kulanite crystals with dark oil-green color are seen too. Kulanite is very rare mineral and this is the type locality. Yellow-brown Siderite crystals cover the base and add a nice accent. In very good condition – some small damages.
Mesmerizing!
