Fantastic specimen of gem Garnet var. Grossular crystals with green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. They are transparent, gem and clear up to 6mm. They have grass-green cores due to Chromium. The crystals have razor sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and glassy luster. Apple-green Diopside crystals are seen too, mainly on the back side. The quality is superb. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some damages. On acrylic base.
Outstanding!
