Wonderful specimen of Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian with Clinochlore and Diopside from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals to 5mm have rich grass-green color result of Chromium. They have rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. The crystals are gem. Clinochlore and yellow Diopside crystals are seen too. Very hard to find one of these now – the mine is closed. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.
Charming!
