Killer specimen of superb Pezzottaite crystal sitting attractively on a black Elbaite base from the type locality Sakavalana mine, Madagascar, It is 2003 identified new species of beryl named after Dr. Federico Pezzotta, Italy. The Pezzottaite has bright pink color due to Cesium. The crystal has some gemminess and waxy luster. It is 11mm well shaped hexagonal crystal. It forms an excellent focal point and contrast strongly on the black base. The Elbaite crystals are well shaped and strongly lustrous. On a strong back light they show good gemminess. In very good condition – some side contacts. On acrylic base.
