Exceptional specimen of gemmy Powellite crystals beautifully nestled at the top of impressive Scolecite sprays, Fluorapophyllite-(K) and Stilbite from Yeola, Nashik District, Maharashtra, India. The Powellite is the rarest and most desirable mineral from the Deccan Traps of India. It displays marvelous light amber colored Powellite crystals to 17mm. They have razor sharp octahedral shape. The crystals have glassy luster and pretty striations. The Powellites are translucent to transparent and gemmy. They form an excellent focal point and the white base underlines them attractively. Beautiful white Scolecite sprays grow in very three dimensional and sculptural manner over Stilbite crystals at the bottom The Scolecite needles are white, translucent and pearly lustrous. Water-clear and gem colorless Fluorapophyllite-(K) cubic crystals are seen above. In many Fluorapophyllite-(K) are seen inclusions of Scolecite. The specimen has fascinating display all over 360 degree. In excellent condition – some small damages on the Scolecite.
