Exceptional specimen of emerald-green Chromian Vesuvianite – the rarest and most desirable color from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals have gorgeous and very intense dark emerald-green color due to Chromium. This is extremely rare color and usually the crystals are inosculated in the base, but here they stand quite freely. The color is the ultimate green that is possible to find from the mine. The quality is outstanding – gem crystals with very lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light giving superb sparkling appearance. Overall stunning green Vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.
