Beautiful specimen of Hematite decorated by Rutile crystals with epitaxial growth from Cavradi gorge, Switzerland. Cavradi Hematites are classic and highly treasured. The Hematite crystals have perfect plate shape with beveled terminations. They grow in a three dimensional cluster. The Hematite has superb quality, with extremely lustrous faces which nicely reflects the light and cool growth striations. Above is seen epitaxial overgrowth of small reddish Rutile crystals, aligned in the direction of the Hematite growth. Clear Quartz crystals form the base. The contrast is very strong. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts. On acrylic base.
