Exceptional top toenail specimen of honey-orange colored Grossular Garnet crystals up to 20mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The main crystal forms an excellent focal point. It is transparent, gem quality with strong luster and deep rich and saturated honey-orange color. The smaller crystals above decorate it very attractively. They are glassy and clear with brighter orange color - pure orange water. The crystals have rhombic dodecahedral habit with sharp crystallization. All crystals have nice striations characteristic for Jeffrey mine. The small base is formed by darker green Clinochlore rosettes and lighter green Diopside crystals. With such amazing gemminess, glassy luster and irresistible color it is truly superb Garnet from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some nicks and contacts. On acrylic base.
