Very unusual specimen of Garnet var. Andradite var. Melanite crystals nestled attractively on Feldspar pseudomorph with Epidote from Kayes Region, Mali. The dominant 23mm Melanite crystal decorates elongated hexagonal crystal completely pseudomorphed by white Feldspar. It is not clear what minerals was the original crystal. The Melanites are black with perfect razor-sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and strong luster. They have pretty beveled edges. Above the Feldspar are seen green Epidote crystals.  The specimen displays beautifully all over 360 degree. In very good condition – some small contacts and nicks. On acrylic base.
