Outstanding skeletal Galena specimen from a new find in this closed mine 9th Septemvri mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria – the only one that makes these structures. The skeletal structure is caused by very fast growth of the mineral where the crystal faces do not have the time to be completed because the edges grow faster than the center of the faces. Displays very attractive stepped growth, forming gorgeous terraced structures on all faces. The Galena cubes are strongly matt lustrous and light reflective. They are well formed and have a sharp geometry. On the Galena are seen small Quartz crystals proving the natural origin of the skeletal structures. The base is black Sphalerite. Displays beautifully all over 360 degree. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
Overwhelming skeletal Galena!
