Exceptional specimen of Chromian Vesuvianite with grass-green color (the rarest and most desirable color) to apple-green areas from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. It comes from the collection of Carlos Prieto, Madrid, Spain and was mined before 1990. The perfect sharply terminated crystals are up to 9mm in length. They have gorgeous and intense grass-green color due to Chromium at the tips to apple-green central areas. The quality is superb – gem crystals with very lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light giving superb sparkling appearance. Overall stunning green Vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
Top quality Chromian Vesuvianite!
