Fantastic small jewel of gem Garnet var. Grossular with grass green phantoms, Diopside and Chromite from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals are gem and clear up to 1mm. They have very deep and saturated green cores due to Chromium. The crystals are sharp, glassy and have irresistible color. Diopside crystals grow around and add a nice accent. Some inclusions of black Chromite are seen in the Grossular. Fine thumbnail from this closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous gem-green Garnets!
