Exceptional very old specimen of gemmy Dioptase crystals from Mindouli, Congo - Brazzaville. The specimen comes with an old label from Neree Boubee (1806-1862) dealership in Paris, France. Boubee established one of the most famous 19th-century Paris natural history dealership – for references see the 2016 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 47, # 6. The specimen displays a beautiful cluster of high quality Dioptase crystals up to 19mm. They are strongly lustrous with dark emerald-green color and very sharp, perfectly terminated tips. The quality is superb – very fresh and shiny. The crystals are gemmy with marvelous neon green nuances. It has beautiful display from many sides. Some nicks and contacts. On acrylic base.
