Astounding specimen of gem Garnet var. Grossular with green phantoms from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular crystals have vivid green cores, which are result of Chromium, surrounded by transparent colorless areas. The crystals to 4mm cover the base and they have rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. Some apple green Diopside crystals add a nice accent. This is of truly superior quality. Green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined decades ago - the mine is closed now. Displays on both sides. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts. On acrylic base.

Exceptional phantom Garnets!
