Beautiful and uncommon Calcite epimorph specimen from Krushev dol mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. It displays flames like Calcite crystals growing in a cluster. Many crystals have hollow centers due to epimorph after Calcite. Epimorph is a type of pseudomorph where a mineral replaces another mineral and the original mineral dissolves, leaving a hollow cast surrounded by the new mineral. The color is white. Above grow second generation of small Calcite crystals. The specimen is complete all over floater with no contact points. In very good condition – some flames are not complete.

Exquisite!
