Interesting epimorph Calcite specimen with Chalcopyrite incrustations and Quartz from Krushev dol mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. Epimorph is a type of pseudomorph where a mineral replaces another mineral and the original mineral dissolves, leaving a hollow cast surrounded by the new mineral. It displays superb Calcite skeletons left after the dissolved primary Calcite crystals. The color is white with light pinkish hue. Above grow small sparkling Chalcopyrite crystals with rich yellow color. Small Quartz crystals are seen too. In superb condition.
Pleasing epimorph!
