Superb skeletal Galena decorated by gemmy Sphalerite var. Cleiophane and Quartz from 9th Septemvri mine, Madan ore field, Bulgaria. Very attractive and geometrical arrangement of stacked and aligned Galena overgrowing each other. Excellent parallel growth of cubes and elongated tetragonal prisms on different axes. They grow one atop another forming amazing terraced structure. Some cubes are with truncated corners. The faces are matt lustrous. Gemmy tobacco-brown Sphalerite var. Cleiophane crystals grow at the lower part. Small Quartz crystals are seen too. In good condition – some nicks and contacts.
Choice specimen from this closed mine – the only one that makes these structures!
