Exceptional and rare crystals of classic twinned Proustite to 13mm from the famous St Andreasberg, Harz, Germany. This is an old specimen from this closed locality. The Proustite from St Andreasberg was very rarely encountered. The crystals have good waxy luster and rich wine-red color. They have sharp shape and well formed twinning. The most amazing aspect is the quality of the Proustite – it is translucent and gemmy. For references see the 2017 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 48, # 3. Some small nicks and contacts. On acrylic base.
Outstanding Proustite!
