Cool specimen of grass-green Garnet var. Grossular var. Chromian from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are gem up to 1mm big. They have rich grass green color due to Chromium. With rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible color. Small Clinochlore rosettes grow above. Diopside is seen over the base. Very hard to find one of these now – the mine is closed. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some nicks and contacts. On acrylic base.
Cute!
